WHAT ARE THEY?
Holistic Medicine is the general term for any treatment or therapy that is intended to treat the individual as a whole, mind body and spirit.Whereas conventional medicine concentrates on specific ailments or diseases, holistic treatments aim to address a persons physical, psychological and spiritual needs. Most complementary and alternative therapies are regarded as holistic.
Complementary therapies are used together with conventional medicine in the belief that they increases the effectiveness of the treatment, i.e. they “complement” it.
WHAT DO THEY DO?
Following illnesses and stress, the body will very often be left in a state of imbalance, preventing the body from functioning effectively. These treatments can help restore the body’s natural equilibrium and balance. and the when the body is relaxed it can cope with the everyday stresses and strains of life much more effectively. They can help:
